We agree with the USW. Safety is our top priority.
Safety starts with leadership, and we are accountable for creating the conditions that keep people safe. It also requires all of us, U. S. Steel, the USW, and every employee, to work together every day to identify hazards, reduce risk and prevent injuries.
The losses at Clairton and Granite City remain on our minds every day. We owe it to those employees, their families and every person who comes to work at U. S. Steel to keep improving.
Safety can never become routine. We must constantly learn from incidents, speak up about concerns and act before someone gets hurt.
Our focus remains the well-being of our employees, including mental health. Confidential support is available through our Employee Assistance Program.
We will continue working side by side with the USW to strengthen safety practices across our operations. We will never stop learning, improving, and investing in safety because nothing is more important than protecting our people.
Every employee deserves to go home safely. Every shift. Every day.
