Earlier this week, bargaining teams from U. S. Steel and the United Steelworkers (USW) returned to Pittsburgh to continue in-person negotiations.
We’re moving through this negotiation using a structured approach like we have in the past — we have a Top Table and sub-tables focused on 4 key areas: Safety, Benefits, Contract Language, and Office & Technical/Plant Protection matters. Company and Union representatives from those teams have been meeting and are actively working through proposals submitted by both parties.
That’s how this process is designed to work, and it is.
We’re encouraged by the discussions this week and we are focused on working through the important issues at the table.
Our goal remains to reach an agreement that recognizes the important work you do and supports a strong future for you, your families, and U. S. Steel.
