U. S. Steel and USW Agree to Extend Current Labor Agreement

U. S. Steel and the United Steelworkers (USW) have mutually agreed to extend the current Basic Labor Agreements beyond their scheduled expiration at 12:01 a.m. ET on September 1, 2026.

This means the current agreements will remain in effect as bargaining continues.

We continue to engage in good faith negotiations and are working through the important issues at the table. Our goal is to reach a mutually beneficial agreement that provides competitive compensation, benefits, and job stability for our employees.

We appreciate your continued focus on working safely and serving our customers.

We’ll keep you updated as bargaining moves forward.
